Troubleshooting Guide

This file covers some of the recurring problems that have been reported with the mod.

1)"I get the following error 'guXXX.spr not found in asset tree' (XXX being a random number). It occurs after I've been in a Medmod II game for about 5 minutes or so. If I try to move a unit, or build a city the error occurs and the game crashes."

If this is not your problem, then you might have a problem in your system. Try re-booting and using applications such as scan-disk to check for problems.

2)"When I tried to go back to playing the original game, I received multiple error messages, and the game crashed."

This means that you inadvertently over-wrote the original Great Library, gamefile and newsprite texts when switching between mods with modswapper. Download the "originals" zip from my site, and manually place the three files in it over the ones currently in your system. Then use modswapper to select the original game, and select "save and exit". Now you can start the game as usual and you will be playing the original game.

3)"When I tried to use modswapper to select the Medpack, the option was not there. The only option available was the original game."

This usually means that you have an outdated version of Winzip, one that does not support pathing. If you open up your Ctp folder, and see about a hundred files in it, then you know this is your problem. Installing a new version of Winzip should correct this. After installing Winzip, simply unzip the mod components into the Ctp folder once again.

Note: If you are running Win2k, please read the Win2k instructions text where you found this file.
